Quiet Prayer with Icons

Icons have been a means of prayerful inspiration for centuries, particularly in the Eastern Catholic and Orthodox traditions. The artistic dimensions of icons – colors, forms, and shapes – are intended to symbolize spiritual realities. Icons are therefore often referred to as “windows to the eternal”. Encourage individuals or find time as a parish community to prayerfully contemplate icons as a means of asking the Holy Spirit for inspiration.
