St. Ignatius developed the Spiritual Exercises as a way to help people strengthen their relationship with God. The Spiritual Exercises originally consisted in a 30-day silent retreat. There are now many variations on the timing and manner of participating in the Spiritual Exercises. Set aside an evening to present the themes, method, and benefits of the Spiritual Exercises to your parish, and provide parishioners with resources they can use if they would like to participate in the Spiritual Exercises.
